Yoga by Audrey

Breath - Move - Meditate

Hello dearest yogis,

As we take action around the world to minimise the impact of coronavirus, many of us are self-isolating and working from home. So I've decided to start teaching live online group and private classes. It's still a work in progress, and hiccups may come along, but that's ok too. While we're all at home why not enjoy the experience, keep a healthy body, stay upbeat in life, and have fun practising yoga together.

If you are worried about money, please drop me a line, and we can work something out.

If you have any feedback or special requests, please don't hesitate to reach out.

It is my hope that these sessions will offer you a much-needed break from your couch, put a little smile on your face and encourage you to maintain a healthy routine and body through this crazy period in our lives.

Sending you "virtual" hugs.

With love, Audrey.

Yoga ... yes, but which style?

There are as many styles of yoga as there are teachers. Here is the style I like to teach. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

HATHA

WHAT IS IT?  “Hatha” can be translated two ways: as “willful” or “forceful,” or the yoga of activity, and as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha), the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

FOR WHO?  Everybody, all level, every day, every mood, every season

+++  Hold poses longer, challenge your mind and body

DYNAMIC FLOW YOGA

WHAT IS IT ? This is an energising power yoga class. It provides a rigorous full-body workout and promotes mental stability and concentration. Build stamina, strength and flexibility and synchronise the breath with movement in continual flow.

FOR WHO?  Everybody who wants to release energy. This type of yoga is challenging, quick-paced, and is just what you need to open your tight hamstrings, hips, and shoulders.

+++  energy release, strength and flexibility

PREGNANCY YOGA

WHAT IS IT? A balanced gentle flow class with breathing exercises and some visualisation. This specialist yoga class is to assist your body in cultivating strength, flexibility and breath awareness, adapting to the many changes that pregnancy brings about, to focus on your baby, and to prepare you mentally, physically and emotionally for labour birth and afterwards.

FOR WHO? Every mother-to-be. Suitable for both beginning students and experienced practitioners. From 12 weeks and/or first scan, until the end of pregnancy. Be conscious of how your body feels and seek medical advice regarding any health issues.

+++ Breath awareness, reduces backache, strengthens the body in preparation for labour, connects with your baby, great way to feel part of a community of pregnant women...

POST-NATAL YOGA

WHAT IS IT ?  Movement, balancing strengthening and restorative poses to help you recover and build strength following pregnancy and birth.

FOR WHO ?  Mums with babies from six weeks to crawling

If you had a C-section, please make sure you have your doctor’s permission before returning to yoga. Consult your GP for advice on when to resume practising.

+++  Releases tension in shoulders and neck muscles, helps to improve posture, strengthens the back, abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, brings fun and pleasure to both parent and baby, and provides an opportunity to connect with other parents

YOGA FOR RUNNERS (OR cyclists, surfers, gardeners …)

WHAT IS IT ?  Yoga practice strengthens both the key supporting muscles used in running and the underused muscles. The movement on the mat develops strength in the core, quads, hamstrings and hip flexors which will help runners to stay injury free.

FOR WHO? Everybody who needs good stretch, strength and balance.

+++ Stretch deeply, focus on postural muscles and easy poses

.

Me, Audrey

Yoga is not just about being flexible, staying upside down on your head, or touching your nose with your feet. Yoga is more than physical activity, it is a science, a way to live differently. By practicing a system of poses, breathing exercises and meditations, you can heal yourself, release stress, and connect your mind more fully with your body.

‍ I have been practicing yoga since 2001. Certified in Nepal in 2017, I traveled the world a few times and enjoyed living in different wonderful vibrated places such as temples, ashrams, and monasteries. The physical and mental health benefits that I have experienced through yoga have been rewarding and life-changing.

I aim to bring those to other people in a safe environment with a sense of fun and enjoyment. My teaching style is based on clear, simple instruction and the belief that yoga should be available to everyone.
